The SHIRE Recording Studio

The SHIRE is a complete, professional studio that can provide a finished master of the highest quality. Whilst many composers have their own project studios, The SHIRE is unique with an innovative approach to recording that yields fantastic results.

What sets this studio apart from other similar-sized production facilities is the procedure by which the recordings are processed. It is one of a handful of studios in Canada to have the renowned Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor as well as an entire Shadow Hills signal chain. The SHIRE uses high-quality Solid State Logic analog to digital convertors and has a virtual Solid State Logic C series console. By integrating the digital world with the analog, Shehab and Asif use vacuum-tube and discrete analog equipment, as well as real tape machines to create full, rich and vibrant mixes which sound like recordings produced in major studios, but at a fraction of the cost.

The studio has been carefully designed in a manner to create mixes of cues and files for approval in lightning-fast turn around times. By using FTP technology, projects have been developed with clients as far away as Australia. As well, spotting sessions and screenings with directors and producers can be conducted in a theatre style viewing environment with a 105” LCD projection screen, leather sofa seating with a bar for a more relaxed and comfortable setting!
